About Us

Two Macaws is more than a concept store—it is a celebration of craftsmanship, culture, and the stories woven into every handmade piece. Inspired by my travels across the world, from the vibrant markets of India to the remote villages of the Andes and the depths of the Amazon, this space honors the artisans who keep ancient traditions alive.

The name Two Macaws is rooted in my time in Peru, where I sat with Shipibo artisans, watching them translate their sacred visions into intricate geometric designs—each symbol carrying the wisdom of their ancestors. In the Andean highlands, I learned from Quechua weavers, whose hands, weathered by time and tradition, dye wool with plants and minerals, weaving stories of their land into every thread. Their craft is not just art; it is language, history, and resistance.

Yet, my connection to traditional craftsmanship began long before my travels. Growing up in India, I was surrounded by a world rich in color, texture, and artistry. The delicate strokes of Kalamkari artists, the intricate stitches of Kantha embroidery, and the bold storytelling of Madhubani paintings were all part of my heritage—a legacy of skilled hands passing down knowledge through generations. These traditions are more than objects; they are living expressions of identity and resilience.

At Two Macaws, we honor these roots by curating pieces that carry the soul of the hands that created them. Every item in our collection is a bridge between past and present, a testament to the artisans who preserve their craft with devotion. Through this space, we invite you to explore a world of artistry, culture, and meaningful connection—where every purchase supports traditional craftsmanship and the communities that keep these stories alive.
